Responsibilities

These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Conducting the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances.
  2. Assisting with call center scripts and handling patient service telephone calls.
  3. Providing health-related information to individuals to promote well-being.
  4. Assisting with scheme authorization for chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medication.
  5. Reporting low or out-of-stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager.
  6. Receiving dispensary stock in accordance with company SOPs.
  7. Assisting with the unpacking, merchandising of stock, and cleaning of dispensary and OTC shelves as approved by the responsible pharmacist.
  8. Undertaking any other duties as assigned by the Dispensary Manager.
  9. Ensuring accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication, and being aware of common dosages and important drug interactions.
  10. Ensuring that all medications are checked for accuracy by a pharmacist and signed off accordingly.
  11. Following up with patients regarding script tracking reports as requested by the dispensary manager and scheduling follow-up appointments.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (HG) and either Physical Science or Life Science.
  • Must have achieved a minimum average of 50%.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in English and a second language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Strong time management skills, ability to work under deadlines, and capacity to handle pressure.
  • Attention to detail, effective communication skills, including listening and customer service focus.
  • Problem-solving ability, team player mentality, conflict management skills, leading by example, and demonstrating accountability.
  • Professional conduct, trustworthiness, and honesty.
  • Proficiency in computer and numerical skills.
