Netflix today has revealed its highly anticipated slate of upcoming South African and international series, films and games coming in 2025 which is set to become one of Netflix’s biggest years ever for global audiences.
The exciting slate features new films and series, along with the return of fan-favourites for local audiences to enjoy while showcasing the best in class stories from South Africa and around the world.

Fans of South African stories are also in for a treat with new series including Tuiskoms, a brand-new Afrikaans language series featuring a stellar cast of local talent and produced by Infinity Films which will premiere on 28 February 2025. On 21 March 2025, an exciting drama series Go! produced by Ten30Films with Kutlwano Ditsele as creator and producer with Thuli Zuma and Tristan Holmes taking the directing helm will also launch on Netflix. - New Comedies that build on the success of shows like Nobody Wants This, and A Man on the Inside — including Tina Fey’s The Four Seasons, adapted from the 1981 film written by Alan Alda.
- New Unscripted titles that go beyond Netflix’s current slate of must-watch dating shows and behind-the-scenes sports shows that will include performance-style shows like Building the Band, and social experiment shows like Million Dollar Secret.

Bajaria announced that TUDUM, our global fan event, will stream live from Los Angeles on May 31, and previewed Everybody’s Live in L.A. with John Mulaney, a new weekly stand-up special starting March 12.
- Bajaria pointed out that prestige TV and film have always been foundational to what Netflix does, and last year we had more Emmy® and Golden Globe nominations than any other network. New Prestige TV and Films including Sirens from Maid creator Molly Smith Meltzer, Death by Lightning from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Zero Day starring Robert De Niro, Black Rabbit starring and executive produced by Jason Bateman and Jude Law, and The Beast in Me with Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys.
- 2025 will also have plenty of Returning Favorites including three of our biggest shows ever — Stranger Things, Wednesday and Squid Game. Bajaria revealed that Wednesday just wrapped production, and will be out later this year. She also announced that the final season of Squid Game will debut on June 27.
Finally, Games offer fans a way to go even deeper into their favorite worlds. With Squid Game: Unleashed on pace to be Netflix’s most downloaded game ever, members can expect to see even more games coming in 2025 based on shows they love, from Ginny & Georgia and Sweet Magnolias to Love is Blind and Single’s Inferno. Bajaria also announced Netflix will be the exclusive home to the iconic WWE 2K video games on mobile starting later this year.
“We’re not just one thing. We’re the best of film, TV, documentaries, stand-up, animation and live events — and we’re doing it in 50 languages. We’re not afraid to make big bets on compelling voices and new ideas — whether it’s a plot twist, an original story, or a big live moment. That’s what Netflix is all about. Bold choices. Creativity. Surprises. Fandom. Entertaining the world. That’s what keeps our members coming back week after week, month after month, year after year. And that’s what we’ll be doing in 2025,” says Bajaria.
