Local TV and radio personality Phat Joe has parted ways with Radio 2000. According to a statement released by the SABC, the Radio 2000 breakfast show host Majota “Phat Joe” Khambule resigned from his post at Radio 2000 after a year with the station.

“The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) radio station, Radio 2000, would like to announce the resignation of its breakfast show host, Mr. Majota ‘Phat Joe’ Khambule. Phat Joe joined the breakfast show ‘Phat Joe and the family’ in April 2019,” – acting spokesperson of the SABC Mmomi Seapolelo said in a statement
In February, rumours made rounds that Joe had once again been suspended at Radio 2000, but the SABC disputed the reports, saying he was only on “special leave”.
Last year February, Joe was suspended for his remarks on social media about the LGBTIQ+Community.
The press statement adds that Radio 2000 will in due course announce the changes to its line-up.
