Multi award winning Relebogile Mabotja has been selected as the musical director of the upcoming Tecno Own The Stage finale taking place in Nigeria on 7 February 2016.
Tecno Own The Stage is a karaoke themed talent search competition that ran in Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania, and aired weekly on the African Magic Channel. The finale is taking place in Nigeria, where Relebogile Mabotja will musical direct the finale show as well as coach contestants in the build up to the finale.
Relebogile Mabotja is one of the few female musical directors on the continent and being selected to musical direct Tecno Own The Stage is just testament to the excellent work Relebogile Mabotja has produced and directed over the years. This comes just off the bat of Relebogile Mabotja being the musical director for the Crown Gospel Awards that took place in November 2015.
Relebogile Mabotja holds an impressive resume of work done under her company Lebotja Media, where she composed the theme music You Belong for SABC 2, Afro Café, Nedbank KeYona – Make The Team, Making Moves, Sunday Chillas, etv’s I Love South Africa, Koze Kuse, SABC 1’s Mzansi Insider and SABC Sports radio campaign for Laduma, Sport@10, Soccer 411 and SoccerZone. Relebogile Mabotja was also the musical director for Nigeria’s Star The Winner Is, etv’s I Love South Africa and SABC 2’s Afro Café Season 10.
