Gauteng Cricket Board, CEO Greg Fredericks has played an integral part in the growth and success of the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre, which is the first of its kind in Gauteng to combine medical practices and fitness.

Speaking at the event, Craig Govender of the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre said, “Mr Fredericks was a huge part of helping me get the project going and it will remain his legacy in my eyes. The centre was basically 2 empty rooms, with absolutely nothing in them but bars. I would like to thank Mr Fredericks for being a silent driving force for me.”

Founded by Govender, the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre supplied by Origin Fitness has been hailed for the role it has played in providing comprehensive treatment to both underprivileged and professional athletes across various sporting codes.

In its three years of existence, the centre has attracted many sports personalities, both amateur and professional, from footballers, cricketers and golfers to Olympic athletes.

“The centre will be one of the legacies I leave behind when I depart and I can proudly look back and say we have added value to the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium and to the Central Gauteng Lions,” expresses Greg Fredericks, Chief Executive Officer of the Gauteng Cricket Board.
