A gathering of some of South Africa’s finest comedians at Wild Coast Sun promises a night of belly laughs on Friday, 17 May 2024.
Household names Sifiso Nene, Mpho Popps, David Kau, Skhumba Hlophe, and Sis Maria will deliver stand up comedy and entertainment galore in a new show, “Comedy Combo”.
Nene has recently toured the country, sharing his hilarious relatable struggles in Baby Mama Drama 2. Popps, who started his career on the national comedy search tv show “So You Think You Are Funny”, has recently been nominated for Comedian of the Year in the 2024 Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards. Kau needs little introduction, having been in the game since 1998 when he was the country’s first black stand-up comedian in the 1998 Smirnoff International Comedy Festival in Cape Town. Sis Maria, is one of the four characters Thato Joseph Matshifane portrays, and as a social media comedian, earlier this year reached more than 1.3-million followers on TikTok.
The 2022 DSTV Comedy Awards Best Comedian Hlophe is fresh off the success of last year’s solo tour, “As I was Saying”, and Sis Maria will be bringing it for the ladies as she (he) rounds off the line-up.
