Yung Swiss named #1 on MTV Base latest Top 5 list

MTV Base’s Top 5 list of 2017 Best Trappers in SA

No stranger to being recognised by one of the world’s largest music and entertainment channels, MTV Base, Yung Swiss finds himself acknowledged by the channel for the second time this year; this time taking the coveted number #1 spot on MTV Base’s Top 5 list of 2017 Best Trappers in SA.

Multi-talented and often acknowledged as being one of SA’s game changing artists, Yung Swiss was named by MTV Base earlier this year as one of their Top African Acts To Watch Out for In 2017 and he has not disappointed.

Yung Swiss’ rise to fame started with the release of his smash hit single, David Genaro, which became an anthem amongst urban youth in the country and even went on to become a theme song for one of South Africa’s most watched local soapies, Rhythm City.

Unfaltering, Yung Swiss has released hit after hit and is responsible for some of the most recognised song hooks in the country such as the Mayo hook on DJ Speedsta’s Mayo track and the Mary Jane hook on DJ Vigilante’s Mary Jane track.

Although Yung Swiss takes the lead in the country as the best trapper, his versatility as an artist has enabled him to create hit tracks outside of the “trap” genre such as Jungle featuring Mr Cashtime K.O, which is still on high rotation on radio stations such as YFM.

“Yung Swiss has been consistent in his delivery of some of South Africa’s biggest songs. It’s no surprise that reputable platforms like MTV Base keep acknowledging him for his work. There’s a lot more the country and continent can expect from Yung Swiss in the near future outside of the trap genre,” shares Kyle Brown, Yung Swiss’s manager and co-owner of Playground Productions.

To celebrate his number #1 spot on MTV Base’s Top 5 list of 2017 Best Trappers in SA, Yung Swiss has released a trap joint of note titled I Might that has gone viral with a dance challenge. Make sure to follow Yung Swiss on social media to keep track of the I Might dance challenge and why he is SA’s best trapper.
